The Perils of Eating too Fast

Since my op, my journey has been a smooth one.

Ive not vomitted once (thank god) and i can now eat everything - including bread and pasta.  I still follow the protein first rule, then veggies, then carbs if i have any room!   I dont tend to eat bread much because its so filling and i dont get the chance to eat my protein after, but for lunch at work i like a couple of slices of weight watchers bread (those of you who have had it before will know exactly how flimsy this bread is haha!) and tuna mayo.

At the weekend i had lasagne one evening - it was a gorgeous lasagne!  I honestly forgot id had the op and started chowing down.  Because the lasagne was sooooooooooooo nice, i was wolfing it down, well i was until i suddenly got this severe pressure in my chest (sleevers tend to get full in chest rather than the belly). Suddenly i realised i had been waaay to fast but there was nothing i could do!  I felt like i was going to puke!  (i really hate being sick!)  So i was trying to do all i could to not be sick - which meant i was pacing up and down like a mad woman, trying to walk it off.  Anyway, 10 minutes later and the pressure subsided, and all was well again.  But it really scared me - so note to myself, no wolfing food down! x

Weigh In Day Week 16

As suspected, its a no loss this week.  When i have a loss of 4-5lbs, the following week i tend to not loose.  So im not surprised or upset - im still loving the fact that im not putting on weight!  So a stand still is fine with me.

Another 2lbs to loose and i would have lost 4 stones!  Im sure ill hit that 2lb mark by next weekend!

Weigh In Day Week 14

Hello all,

well this weeks weight loss is 1lb.  One incy wincy pound...but its off!  I came on on Saturday so im secretly hoping its the bloatiness thats stopped me from gaining more, but who knows?

I had a lovely Saturday infact, i met up with the two girls who had the same op as me at the same time.  Three weight loss surgery paitients met up for lunch haha!   We went to an interesting Thai restaurant that served Thai tapas - it worked somehow!  The food was lovely!

Was so nice to see them after 3 months - i really noticed their weight loss!  They both looked beautiful and all 3 of us had a new air of confidence about us.  It felt a world away from the 3 fat girls who squished onto a Ryan Air plane on the way there!

Im so pleased we have stayed in touch and hope we continue to be friends for a looong time!

Excercise

So i think my weightloss is pretty much at a steady 2lbs a week, 3 months post op.  What can i do to improve on this loss i hear you ask...well theres only one answer...Excercise.

My attitude to excercise is best described by this pic

Excercise is not something i particularly enjoy - really wish i had that gene that made me want to hit the gym straight after work groan.  But instead i got the 'I must eat' gene booo!  Luckily my sleeve is helping me eat better and making better choices.  I still dont understand why i just couldnt do this without resorting to surgery - its crazy no?

Anyhoo, I have been doing an hours zumba once or twice a week and i actually enjoy that.  But the thought of a gym gives me the shivers!  Does such a thing as gymphobia exist?! However i accept that more physical activity can only aid my weightloss. So im thinking of starting early morning swimming (im guessing it will be quiet at 7am!).  Will start next week as im going to pop in there this week to get myself sorted.

I shall report back next week, wish me luck!

Things Im Missing - 3 Months Post Op

So today is my 3 month anniversary - cant believe its been 3 months!

Everyday seems to get better - sounds so corny right?!  But its trooooo!

Im beginning to learn how much i can realisticly eat for my meal times, so it seems to work well when i go out to eat.  For those wondering if you'll ever be able to eat out socially again, yes you will.  Yesterday i went to a BBQ and had a lamb kebab skewer, a mini pakora and a burger (no bun just the meat) - and everyone else was eating and no one really noticed how little i had!  A couple of hours later i went back for another mini pakora!  I also went to an Italian a couple of weeks ago and ordered meatballs for starter, then i ordered anoher starter to come as my main (fishcake).  Everything felt normal, so have no fear!

One thing i really do miss, is being able to drink while eating.  I have always done it so i am still struggling with not drinking argh!  Im sure it will become second nature eventually.  I was advised to wait 15mins after drinking before eating, and to also wait 30mins after eating to drink - it very much annoys me but the advice is spot on!  I also miss being able to guzzle my drinks down!!  Sooo, the only negatives ive encountered so far are the drinking things.  Not too bad id say x

Oh i also need to drink more generally!  Im quite naughty in remembering to sip throughout the day!

Weigh In Day

Hello all!

Yesterday was my weigh in day, and guess what, i lost 3lbs!!  I would be over the moon to loose 3lbs every week, but alas, 2lbs seems to be my norm.  So im celebrating this loss!
